Well, today was a difficult day, it was a great day but difficult. So where do I start… it was my daughters 6th birthday. Six, I just can’t believe it has been six years. She had a great day if you were wondering. All that aside. Dieting with kids is one of the hardest things to do. There are some tough decisions that need to be made.
So if you are still reading you might be asking why was my day so difficult and what decisions were so tough?
Well, what is normally at birthday parties? Cake, ice cream, and all kinds of good food that you wish you could just have every bit of.
Now if you follow IIFYM (you should)then you can most certainly fit that stuff in, but that would destroy your macros for the day. If you are counting calories then that is going to take a big chunk out of your day as well. Or you don’t eat anything and you run the risk of your child possibly wondering why you are not eating any of their birthday cake. Which might or might not hurt their feelings.
It is possible that your child won’t notice, but there is one thing that will happen you might feel bad. Bad for not enjoying the day of your child’s birth because you are trying to lose a few pounds. Which is more important… well your health is of course. Right?!
The real question should be is one day going to hurt? Well, that all depends on how dedicated you are. You can get away with one day of eating what you want and not having to worry about messing everything all up. You will be fine. And you will feel better about not missing out on the moment.
So what did I do?
I will tell you what I did I had some cake and ice cream.
Do you know what didn’t happen I didn’t gain back all the weight I lost! The sky didn’t fall and I lived to fight another day. That maybe a little much
but you get the point. Dieting is important but you have to consider things in life you won’t get back. All in all, what I want you to take away is enjoy that one day and get back to your diet. You will thank me for it later!
If you would please comment down below of an event you partook on and it didn’t totally ruin you! We could all use the motivation and encouragement to not give up because of one day!
